Huvis (CEO Kim Seok-hyeon), a specialty chemical and fiber materials company, announced on the 28th that it will transition its “R&D Solution Fair (Huvis R&D Solution Fair)”—an event designed to introduce the company’s new technologies and products and share its future vision with clients—to a year-round operation starting this year.

Since 2020, Huvis has held the R&D Solution Fair annually around May, based on the philosophy that “the future of materials also lies in the market.” Starting this year, the company has shifted to a year-round format to respond swiftly to rapidly changing market conditions and provide customized services tailored to individual customers’ needs. Since February, Huvis has been conducting joint research projects with clients in the Gyeongin and Daegu regions.

At this fair, Huvis plans to showcase a variety of differentiated and eco-friendly material technologies. One notable example is “Polarfill,” a hollow fiber alternative to goose and duck down. This innovation was developed in response to the significant increase in down prices caused by disruptions in the global value chain. Polarfill is a premium padding material made from bio-based raw materials. It provides excellent thermal insulation and has received “Vegan Certification” from the Korea Vegan Certification Institute, attracting significant interest from clients.

Additionally, in response to the growing demand for recycled materials, particularly from global companies, Huvis plans to introduce a new stretch composite yarn for apparel, made from 100% recycled raw materials. The company also intends to provide its proprietary recycling technology and eco-friendly data for each product, based on life cycle assessment (LCA). This will assist client companies in expanding their export opportunities.

Lee Min-seong, Head of the Huvis R&D Center, emphasized, “We have shifted from holding periodic R&D Solution Fairs to a year-round system starting this year to provide on-demand solutions whenever customers need them.” He added, “We aim to become a true technology partner to lead the industry, going beyond merely supplying materials to find market solutions together with our clients.” (End)
