Huvis Expands Duraron-Cool Lineup to Cement Top Spot in Cooling Fiber Market

2026-05-07

- Launch of antibacterial bedding yarn: 99.9% antibacterial efficacy proven in KOTITI testing
- Fashion and outdoor brands launch cooling shoes and bags using the product, expanding applications and strengthening competitiveness

Huvis (CEO Kim Seok-hyun), a company specializing in chemical fiber materials, announced on the 7th that it is significantly strengthening the differentiated product lineup of its cooling fiber brand ‘Duraron-Cool’ to solidify its market dominance.

Duraron-Cool is a "cool-to-the-touch” fiber that provides an immediate cooling sensation upon skin contact. Its primary raw material, polyethylene (PE), has a higher thermal conductivity than cotton or nylon, enabling it to rapidly lower the user’s body temperature. Since making its official entry into the market in 2022, the brand has recorded consistent year-on-year sales growth. Last year, Huvis solidified its dominant position by developing a differentiated dyeable variant with enhanced cooling performance, capturing approximately 70% of South Korea's domestic cooling fiber market.

This year, Huvis is expanding its applications beyond existing cooling bedding materials to include premium antibacterial yarn products and fashion items such as bags and shoes. Duraron-Cool antibacterial yarn has proven its performance through rigorous testing by KOTITI, a nationally accredited testing and inspection institute. According to the test report (KOTITI No. 82211002142642), Duraron-Cool antibacterial yarn demonstrated a 99.9% bacterial reduction rate against harmful bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus and pneumococcus, effectively inhibiting bacterial growth. This is expected to provide an optimal sleeping environment for consumers who prioritize not only cooling performance but also hygiene.

Furthermore, the application of Duraron-Cool, which was previously limited to bedding, is rapidly expanding into the apparel and fashion sectors. Fashion brands Kangol and Hazzys have rolled out new lines of bags that leverage the "cool-to-the-touch" properties of Duraron-Cool, while outdoor lifestyle brands like National Geographic are introducing functional cooling footwear to the market. Through these initiatives, Huvis aims to diversify its product applications from bedding to the broader apparel and fashion sectors, thereby establishing a variety of business models.

“Duraron-Cool is a leading summer fabric that has earned the consistent trust of our clients through its differentiated quality and service,” said Kim Seok-hyun, CEO of Huvis. “Moving forward, Huvis will strengthen its differentiation strategy across the entire fashion sector—beyond bedding—based on our technological competitiveness to lead the global cooling fabric market,” he added.

Meanwhile, Huvis Duraron-Cool participated in Techtextil 2026, the world’s largest industrial materials exhibition held in Frankfurt, Germany, from April 21 to 24, attracting significant interest from local buyers. With demand for cooling materials surging due to climate change, including recent heatwaves in Europe, the company plans to fully launch its entry into the European bedding and apparel markets based on its successful domestic model.
