On the 6th, Huvis (CEO Kim, Suk Hyun, 079980), specializing in chemical and fiber materials, announced that it had successfully concluded its participation in Asia’s largest specialty paper materials exhibition, Paper Based Materials Expo 2025 (PBME 2025), held in Hangzhou, China, from the 3rd to the 5th. The company showcased its Short-Cut Fiber brand, the MINIMAX lineup.
Now in its sixth year, PBME 2025 is Asia’s largest exhibition for specialty paper materials and is organized by the China Paper Research Institute. Over 200 companies from around the world participated, attracting more than 10,000 industry professionals and buyers. China is rapidly expanding policies that promote the shift to plastic alternatives and eco-friendly composite materials. PBME is recognized as a platform for collaboration and technological exchange among global material companies amid these industry changes.
At this exhibition, Huvis focused on introducing its differentiated MINIMAX series materials. MINIMAX is a product characterized by excellent dispersibility, dimensional stability, and broad applicability. It is made by cutting fibers with diverse properties into lengths of 3–18 mm, which is significantly shorter than conventional fiber lengths. It is used as a specialized paper-based material for industrial filter paper, electrical insulation paper, and wallpaper. Its technological prowess led to its selection as a “World-Class Product” by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and KOTRA in 2023.
The exhibited products included five types: MINIMAX-UDF (Undrawn Fiber), MINIMAX-Super Micro, MINIMAX-PPS, MINIMAX-mA (Meta-Aramid), and MINIMAX-LMF (Low Melting Fiber). These products attracted interest from professionals in various industrial and differentiated material sectors.
MINIMAX-UDF is a wet-laid staple fiber dedicated to RO (reverse osmosis) filters, which are core components of water purifiers. It features excellent moisture dispersion, heat resistance, and chemical resistance, making it ideal for manufacturing high-quality membranes and filter papers. MINIMAX-Super Micro is a high-performance staple fiber based on ultra-fine fiber technology. Its micro-pores and high specific surface area provide outstanding filtration and adsorption capabilities, making it suitable for industrial and automotive filters, as well as wallpaper materials. MINIMAX-PPS is a staple fiber version of HUBS's ZetaOne PPS fiber brand. It offers excellent chemical, flame, and hydrolysis resistance, making it ideal for composite materials in high-temperature, highly corrosive environments. MINIMAX-mA is a meta-aramid staple fiber that maintains stable performance at temperatures exceeding 200°C. It is used in high-heat-resistant industrial materials, such as electrical insulation paper, battery separators, and composite materials for high-temperature cables. Finally, MINIMAX-LMF is a thermally bonded, polyester-based staple fiber with a sheath-core structure. It provides excellent thermal bonding and flame retardance, making it ideal for paper-based composite materials, including filters, tea bags, wallpaper, and packaging materials.
Through this exhibition, Huvis aims to secure new business partners in China’s specialty paper and eco-friendly packaging materials market and pioneer sales channels in the global differentiated materials market.
“MINIMAX is a core product group in Huvis’s strategy for pursuing high-performance differentiated materials,” says Kim, Suk Hyun, CEO of Huvis. “Participating in this exhibition will serve as an opportunity to expand partnerships in the Asian market, including China, and further solidify our global leadership in the differentiated materials sector.” (End)
