Samyang Group (Chairman Kim Yoon) and Huvis (CEO Kim, Suk Hyun) announced the successful conclusion of the 26th annual Nature Love Blue Heart Drawing Festival, held on May 20 at the Huvis plant in Jeonju.

Initiated in 1996, the Nature Love Blue Heart Drawing Festival is an environmental event co-hosted by the Sudang Foundation (a scholarship foundation of the Samyang Group), Samyang Corporation, Samyang Hwasung, and Huvis, specializing in chemical and fiber materials, with support from the Ministry of Environment.

This year’s festival saw approximately 1,100 participants, including kindergarten (ages 3-6) and elementary school students, and attracted about 2,200 visitors, including participants’ families.

The drawing competition focused on two themes: △Our Efforts to Protect Endangered Plants and Animals and △Our Neighborhood Clean 100 Years from Now: Visions of a Future Eco-friendly City. Students chose one theme and created artworks reflecting the importance of environmental preservation.

Go Ara, a third-grader from Onbit Elementary School, shared her experience: “I participated in the drawing festival last year as well. It was a valuable time to contemplate the importance of the environment and ways to protect it through drawing. I will definitely join the festival again next year.”

Participants and their families enjoyed various environmental programs, such as △making planters and key rings from recycled coffee grounds, △decorating eco-friendly pouches, and △creating environment-themed picture frames.

The newly introduced ‘Eco Flea Market’ garnered significant interest, with 150 teams registered and early closure due to high demand. Flea market participants sold reusable household items, including toys, books, clothes, and shoes.

Bae Yong-joon, general manager of the Samyang EP plant in Jeonju, commented, “The increased number of attractions and activities compared to last year resulted in a higher turnout. We plan to continue enriching our content to raise awareness about the importance of the environment.”

The drawing competition winners will be announced on May 17 on the Nature Love Blue Heart Drawing Festival website (https://www.naturelovefestival.com). The total prize fund is KRW 16.8 million, with the top prize (the Minister of Environment Award) granting KRW 1 million to each of the three recipients. Additional awards include △six gold prizes (Sudang Foundation Chairman’s Award, Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province Superintendent’s Award) with KRW 700,000 each, △six silver prizes with KRW 500,000 each, △six bronze prizes with KRW 300,000 each, △nine encouragement prizes with KRW 200,000 each, and △100 merit prizes with KRW 30,000 each, totaling 130 winners. <End>
