After a four-year hiatus, the '25th Nature Love Blue Heart Art Festival' will be held offline at Huvis’ Jeonju Factory on September 16th, catering to a diverse range of young talent from preschoolers (ages 3-6) to elementary students.
This event, which is a collaborative endeavor led by prominent entities of the Samyang Group, including Samyang Corporation, Samyang Kasei, the Soodang Foundation, and the leading chemical fiber material producer, Huvis, together with the sponsorship from the Ministry of Environment, has been a cornerstone for environmental advocacy since its inception in 1996. Starting last year, to invigorate the festival, it is now operated solely with the art category with writing having been discontinued.
This year's entrants, spanning preschool to elementary age, will be presented with a unique theme to be unveiled on the festival day. The art competition is scheduled from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM, giving participants a dynamic three-hour window in which they will have the opportunity to showcase their creativity. The evaluation process that is used also ensures that winning pieces are selected from diverse age categories: preschool, lower elementary, and upper elementary.
The total prize pool for the competition is 31.5 million won. This includes △awards for three recipients of the "Minister of Environment Prize" (2 million won each), △six Gold awardees (1.5 million won each), △six Silver recipients (1 million won each), △six Bronze winners (500,000 won each), △15 Honorable Mentions (300,000 won each), and △100 Finalists who will receive gift vouchers worth 30,000 won each, reaching a total of 136 awardees. To boost participation this year, the prize amount has been increased by more than 80% compared to the previous year.
Moving beyond the main competition, the festival also promises to be an enriching experience with various engaging events tailored for attendees. Recognizing the familial essence of the event, attendees can anticipate interactive programs, including sports activities, the "Environmental Golden Bell" quiz, and sustainable craft sessions making pots using coffee grounds and key rings.
Prospective participants can secure their spot through pre-registration on the official Nature Love Blue Heart Art Festival website (http://www.naturelovefestival.com). The first 200 people to pre-register will receive unique benefits, but on-site registration will also be available. Comprehensive details on the registration procedures and schedules are available on the website.
Expressing his enthusiasm, Mr. Lee Hee-jong, Director of Samyang Corporation's Jeonju EP Factory, commented, "The decision to transition the festival online in response to the pandemic was necessary, but the exhilaration of returning offline after four years is palpable. Through this platform, our aspiration is for young minds to grasp the profound importance of the environment and for families to have some memorable experiences together." <End>
