Specializing in chemical materials, Huvis announced on the 20th that it held the Dream Supplies Support ceremony at Jisa Elementary School in Imsil, Jeonbuk in a bid to support the learning environment of eight elementary schools in Jeonbuk. In attendance at the ceremony were a number of Huvis Jeonju Plant employees with Jisa Elementary School Principal Hye-sook Kim and other school officials.
Using the schools recommended by the Jeonbuk Office of Education, Huvis looked into the school conditions and selected schools that were in desperate need of help. The funds presented to each school will be used to repair obsolete facilities on the school grounds, improve the library, or create ecological ponds.
“A healthy and pleasant learning environment is more important than ever due to COVID-19, so we really appreciate the funds that have been donated to help improve the worn-out environment,” said Jisa Elementary School Principal Hye-sook Kim. “This valuable assistance will help our students to focus more on their studies.”
“It’s a shame that many field trips and outdoor activities have been canceled due to COVID-19, making students feel frustrated,” said Jeonju Plant General Manager Seong-wook Ko. “Hopefully, this will help to create a better learning environment for them.”
Huvis has been carrying out its Dream Supplies Support project since 2012, offering meals or supplies such as books to underprivileged students during vacation periods. The company also provided bedding for low-income households this March and donated uniforms to soccer team students in April.
