Winter feels so much longer to the underprivileged.
Huvis (CEO Shin, You Dong, www.huvis.com), the leading cutting-edge chemical materials company, is carrying out the ‘Dream Project! One Meal a Day during Vacation’ this year again without fail, through which children from low-income families are provided with one meal a day during school vacation.
A total of 233 students from Banwoul, Jochon and Palbok Elementary Schoo in Jeonjul were selected, and the support fund was presented on December 9 at Banwoul Elementary School.
‘Dream Project: One Meal a Day During School Vacation’ is a project that began in 2012 to provide one meal a day for students at risk of skipping meals during school vacation. It has been carried out for 8 years, twice a year before summer and winter vacation. The selected students are provided with restaurant coupons that can be used in nearby restaurants or for buying groceries such as rice and side dishes that can be directly delivered to their homes.
“This project will go on, as a warm meal for growing students is more important than anything else,” Hyun, Jong Chul, a General Manager of Huvis’ Jeonju Plant. “We hope there are more chances for our underprivileged neighbors to receive proper support.”
