Huvis (CEO Shin, You-dong, 079980), specializing in chemical and fiber materials, announced on the 8th that it is attending PACKCON (China Packaging Container EXPO) 2019 held at the Shanghai New International Expo Center for three days starting today until April 10.
Marking its third year, PACKCON is an exhibition that covers all packing materials made up of the four major container materials such as paper, plastic, metal and glass, and over 300 companies and 10,000 visitors are expected to attend the exhibition.


Huvis is showcasing its food container material ‘EcoPET’ with foamed PET (polyester) made into the form of sheets. With the recent increase in single-person households, semi-prepared meals or convenience foods are also on the rise, but issues have been constantly raised about the container.

EcoPET is the optimum material used for home meal replacements (HMR) and convenience foods. This eco-friendly food container material does not change or produce endocrine disruptors even when heated in a microwave. It was certified as non-toxic by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) and U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The container also does not grow warm even when heated in a microwave or when containing hot food, thereby ensuring safety, and also keeps food warm for a long time.

Acknowledged for this outstanding quality, EcoPET won the grand prize at the Korea Star Awards 2017, and ended up receiving a triple crown by also winning the Asia Star Awards 2017 and World Star Awards 2018.

Huvis plans to introduce the new material EcoPET through PACKCON and develop the channel to enter the world’s biggest Chinese packing container market.
