Huvis(CEO Shin, You Dong, 079980), specializing in chemical materials, announced on the 30th about its three-day participation in ‘COSME Tech 2019’, being held from January 30th to February 1st and takes place at Makuhari Messe in Tokyo, Japan.
This exhibition marks the 7th year for this particular Tokyo-based cosmetics event and enjoys participation from over 800 exhibitors from 35 countries that range from material providers to high-profile brands in all areas of the beauty industry such as skincare, hair, and perfume, attracting visitors of more than 30,000.
While researching new business opportunities in the existing chemical and fiber materials company, Huvis chose to focus on the development of facial mask sheet materials utilizing elastic non-woven fabric. Huvis maximized its development efforts in 2015, thereby enabling robust commercial sales in 2016. The elastic non-woven fabric that is used as a material for facial masks features improved adhesion thanks to its ultra-slim form factor, a characteristic that could not previously be achieved with existing pulp-based non-woven fiber.
The unique fabric structure and raw material has been specifically designed for use with facial masks to help keep essence saturated over a longer period, while offering a pleasant fit through a smooth surface area. The high degree of elasticity rarely seen from existing facial masks also supports new usage potential with lifting facial masks. OEKO-TEX class I certification ensures the utmost safety even on the skin of children.
Using their shared exhibition booth with Sunocs and Itochu Corporation as a springboard, Huvis plans to expand its distribution network that has so far been focused within Korea to launch into Japan's premium cosmetics market.
Huvis CEO Shin, You Dong stated "our foray into the cosmetics market, which is very different from our existing business, is an example of the endless amounts of opportunities that the development of fiber material can make possible." He also revealed that, through the exhibition, Huvis is now focused on showcasing its material technology to a global market while cultivating new business relations.
