Huvis (CEO / Yoo, Bea Keun, www.huvis.com), the leading cutting-edge chemical and fiber materials company, announced that the company selected three Jeonju elementary schools - Palbok, Banwoul and Jochon - for the ‘Dream Lunch Box’ project, providing one meal a day during vacation for children of low-income families, and held the event to deliver the support fund on the 23rd.
The ‘Dream Lunch Box’ project is a part of the ‘Dream Project’ providing education, supplies and food for children of low-income families since 2012. The activities had been carried out only in the Jeonju factory since five years ago, but the scope of the project has been extended starting this year.
Around 180 students from low-income families among those attending the three selected elementary schools were chosen. Meal coupons will be provided for them in collaboration with neighborhood restaurants, or food supplies such as rice and side dishes are delivered to their homes. This project started out with the intention to provide one meal a day for students who do not have much to eat during vacation, unlike during the semester when they can eat meals from the feeding service provided by their schools.
In addition, Huvis is carrying out a variety of activities such as the ‘Dream Briquette Delivery’ delivering briquettes for underprivileged residents; the ‘Dream Supplies Support’ providing books, desks, computers and school supplies; and the ‘Dream Class’ providing education. Huvis will continue to carry out the ‘Dream Project’ by expanding the scope to various areas.
“Since the years of the parent companies, SK Chemicals and Samyang Corporation, Huvis has made constant efforts for regional development over the last 50 years,” said In-yul Shin, Vice President of the HR Department at Huvis. “We will continue to carry out the support projects for underprivileged children, elders and local residents, and take the initiative in contributing to the local community.”
