Huvis (CEO / Yoo, Bea Keun, www.huvis.com), the leading cutting-edge chemical and fiber materials company, announced that an awards ceremony was held on October 2nd at the Nonhyeon-dong headquarters to present certificates and cash prizes to six teams that won the ‘Eco-fiber Idea Contest’ that had been carried out for college and graduate students.



This contest had been carried out for three months from May 29th to September 9th, and the Grand Prize winner was the Department of Fibers and New Materials Design of Yeungnam University, along with other winning teams such as two Excellence Prize winners and three Participation Prize winners. The Grand Prize winner, Yeungnam University Team, gave the idea of ‘applying natural circulation biodegradable fiber to cigarette filters.’


“The college students’ innovative ideas and specific demonstrations were remarkable, and we highly evaluated the fact that they used logical methods of drawing conclusions and various scientific analysis techniques,” said Vice President Heon-ju Lim of Huvis New Materials Division who was in charge of deliberation. Twenty-two members of the six winning teams are given fixed cash prizes along with special employment benefits of passing the document screening in the recruitment process.
