Huvis (CEO Bae-keun Yoo), specializing in chemical materials, recently announced that it selected twelve collegian teachers for its Dream Class for 2016, aimed to provide educational support to children from low-income families and held an orientation at its Jeonju factory on March 21st.
 
Launched in 2012 as part of the company's Dream Project aimed to provide support for education/articles/meals to children from low-income families, Dream Class has welcomed its fifth year this year. The project consists of a corporate responsibility program that connects selected local collegians with middle school students from low-income families and provides scholarships to those collegians while providing quality education support to those middle-school students. In this after-school class, selected middle school students learn English and Math for four hours a week respectively, for a total of eight hours a week. Teachers who help these students have been selected from Chonbuk National University and Jeonju National University of Education based on the recommendations of these universities.
 
Approximately sixty selected students from Deokil Middle School and Gonji Middle School will receive educational support. "Those students who attended the program saw significantly improved academic results, and collegian teachers are also very satisfied with their activity as they can not only teach their major but they can also become eligible to receive scholarships," said Kyeong-hee Lee, a teacher of Deokil Middle School who is responsible for educational welfare of the school.
 
Meanwhile, Huvis has conducted a variety of corporate social responsibility activities for underprivileged local residents, including Dream Briquette Delivery that provides free briquettes, Dream Supplies Support to provide books, desks, computers and school supplies, and Dream Lunch Box, and has plans to continue the project in 2016 as well.
