Huvis Upgrades a level from Environment-Friendly Fiber ‘Memory-Eco’
Effort to gain an edge through the development of high value added fiber is at its height.
The largest polyester manufacturer in Korea, Huvis (CEO Sung-hwan Moon, www.huvis.com) is one of them.
Huvis, aiming for the sales of 1,500 billion won by developing a differentiated cutting edge material, recently launched Memory-Eco®, an upgrade of Memory, which was the representative shape memory fiber.
Improving the 1st generation shape memory fiber, which had trouble in expanding its market due to its use of metal, ‘Memory’ was first developed in the country in 2005 and it was like a timely rain for the domestic companies that were suffering from the lack of materials. Because of the excessive competition and competitive price in the market expected, 10 companies were selected to be organized as a Memory circle, and they were supplied the material exclusively by Huvis. Through these companies, Memory fabric made in Korea was supplied to the world market, and Memory was able to become the representative shape memory material.
Dupont, an American company that is the main supplier of the raw material for Memory fiber, recently succeeded in using corn fermentation instead of byproducts of petrochemistry. Due to this, Memory fiber was able to distinguish itself as an environment-friendly material. By using renewable natural materials instead of limited fossil fuel, this product prepares itself for the exhausting of energy and corresponds to the increasing demand for environment-friendly materials. Along with this, Dupont changed from its inactive marketing and created a new Hangtag with Dupont’s logo imprinted, which is planned to be provided for products that satisfy certain specifications and companies that use Dupont’s raw material. Therefore, companies that use Huvis’s ‘Memory-Eco’ will be provide with Huvis’s hangtag and the world-class brand
Dupont’s hangtag as well. Raw material with these hangtags will be recognized as true shape memory fiber.
material.
An official from Huvis stated, “Through internal inspection results, the property of matter of ‘Memory-Eco’ completely matches that of the preexisting Memory fiber and material, and therefore it seems there will not be any trial and error in production and processing technology. ‘Memory-Eco’ will be able to satisfy the demand for environment-friendly materials that lays deep in our lives.” It will be worth paying attention to Huvis’s ‘Memory-Eco,’ which turned down its competition in similar memory materials.
