Specializing in chemical and fiber materials, Huvis (CEO You Dong Shin) announced on the 2nd that it has delivered ‘Dream Meal’ support funding to provide warm meals during winter vacation to elementary school students in need. The donation will be used to provide a meal for 261 elementary school students in nearby Jochon, Banwol, and Palbok areas, and the donation ceremony has been canceled due to Covid-19.
Started in 2012, ‘Dream Meal’ support project provides financial aid to about 500 elementary students in need at every beginning of summer and winter vacations. The project has been running for nine consecutive years, and has been providing support in this year where the Covid-19 pandemic has wreaked havoc across the country, including all companies and citizens alike.
In addition to ‘Dream Meal’ project, Huvis is participating in ‘Dream uniforms’, ‘Dream Supplies Support’, and ‘Dream briquette delivery’ projects to impart its support for the neighbors in need.
Hyun Jong Chul, head of the Jeonju plant at Huvis, said, “a proper meal is more important than ever to students deficient in immunity as they are more susceptible to Covid-19,” and added that “I hope that our donations can contribute towards children spending a healthy and warm winter vacation, and hope the situation will improve next year and our children's laughter can be heard all across our communities.”
